Spitfires unveil 2022 Blast kit

Kent Cricket have revealed the designs for the Vitality Blast champions’ T20 kit as Kent Spitfires defend their title in the 2022 season, created by British sportswear company, Castore.

Paying homage to the Supermarine Spitfire from which Kent takes its name in limited-overs competition, the Spitfires’ shirts in this season’s Vitality Blast will showcase the speed, power and agility of the aircraft that redefined aviation in the mid-20th Century.

In a colourway comprising of Kent’s iconic navy blue and cherry red, the Club has worked extensively in partnership with Castore to work on a design that not only stays true to the history and culture surrounding the Kent Spitfires, whilst innovation sits at the heart of all of the T20 champions’ teamwear.

After success at Edgbaston last year, two gold stars proudly sit above the Kent Spitfires crest on the fully sublimated garment, with a design mimicking the curves of a Merlin engine from a Spitfire and the power the aircraft achieved in the skies above Kent.

Spitfires supporters are able to purchase their 2022 Vitality Blast shirts now at the Kent Cricket Shop inside The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury, and will be able to order online via a dedicated Kent Cricket x Castore webpage hosted by the Club’s Official Kit Supplier in the coming weeks, with more details to follow in due course.

Kent Cricket’s Men’s Captain, Sam Billings, said: “I’ve been impressed by the ethos and attention to detail that Castore have had in our short partnership to-date and the Men’s squad are all excited to be playing in this kit in 2022.

“We’re all looking forward to defending our title.”

Castore Director of Partnerships, Pascal Lafitte, said: “Castore are proud to be the technical partner for the reigning T20 champions with a kit design and fabric worthy of their title winning season.

“It is paramount to Castore that our kit performs to help Kent achieve their technical best on the field, whilst carrying a striking design that embodies the heritage and community which make up the team”.

Kent Cricket’s Director of Partnerships, Andy Griffiths, said: “This is just the start of the exciting partnership between Kent Cricket and Castore and we’re really pleased with the final design of our Vitality Blast shirts for this season.

“With an extensive training range and new kits coming for our Men in the LV= Insurance County Championship, Royal London Cup and a new kit for Kent Women, I’m sure our Members and supporters will share our excitement as we move into a new era of sportswear with Castore.”

Designs for Kent Men’s kits in other competitions, and for Kent Women, will be revealed in the coming weeks.
