The game between Glamorgan and Kent at Sophia Gardens was abandoned as a draw without a ball being bowled, with the teams awarded a point apiece.
Following heavy overnight rain, the weather relented during the morning and there were hopes that the game would start at 2.30pm, the scheduled start, but the rain returned and intensified during the afternoon.
The umpires, Neil Mallender and Paul Pollard, made their final inspection mid-afternoon and had no hesitation in calling the game off at 3pm.
Kent remain in contention near the top of the Southern Group, while Glamorgan stay in sixth place. The Welsh county next play Surrey at the Kia Oval on Tuesday, before hosting Gloucestershire at home on Friday, while the visitors, who have now had three successive games washed out, next play Essex at Canterbury on Thursday night.
