The inaugural American SpeedFest was such a success at Brands Hatch last weekend that the circuit have already confirmed the event will return in 2014.
Thousands of fans were in attendance to celebrate the popular American motorsport of Nascar and it will return next season over the weekend of the 7th and 8th of June.
It will again be headlined by the only officially sanctioned NASCAR event outside of America, the Euro Racecar NASCAR Touring Series.
Speaking about his pride at how the inaugural event went, George Silbermann, NASCAR Regional and Touring Series Vice President who flew over from Daytona, said: “It feels like I’m at home.
“We hope all out other events follow Brands Hatch’s lead: this is the perfect model. We’re putting together the calendar for next year’s schedule and Brands Hatch is a big part of it. We’ll definitely be back again and again.”
There were around a thousand classic American cars on display around the venue on Sunday, together with 50 cars from Hollywood movies, including the DeLorean from Back to the Future and the General Lee from Dukes of Hazard.
Speaking about the event David Willey, Events manager for Brands Hatch owners MSV, said: “What an event! Our first American SpeedFest was a roaring success and we’ve been taken aback by the volume of comments from spectators telling us it was a fantastic day out for families. We’re determined to make the event bigger and better next year, and we promise we’ll put on an even more spectacular show!”
Fans at the event were treated some fantastic racing on the track as well from the Euro Nascars, as well as Pickup Trucks and classic American race cars.
