Solly picks up Player of the Year

Those fortunate enough to be on the train back from Exeter with Johnnie Jackson know what a generous guy he is. Johnnie bought drinks for all the fans on the train that day.

On Sunday, he was buying in the Antigallican ahead of the Player Of The Year dinner at The Valley. Jackson was later joined by Ben Hamer, Michael Morrison and Danny Green before heading off to the function.

Chris Solly swept the board, polling over half of the votes cast. As well as the main award, Solly was picked as the management’s Young Player Of The Year and also added the CADSA Player Of The Year trophy to make it a triple triumph fir the right-back.

Solly was an immensely popular winner, having come through the club’s youth set up.

Last year’s winner – Jose Semedo – moved on to Sheffield Wednesday in the summer and captained the Owls on Saturday, as they snatched the runners-up place to accompany Charlton to the Championship.

Semedo won the Wednesday fans Player Of The Year award and also recieved the same accolade from his teammates.

Also instrumental in Wednesday’s surge since Dave Jones took over is former Addicks defender, Miguel Llera. Llera’s goals have been key to his team’s great late run.

The Addicks players will now head off for a break in Las Vegas.
