A stunning drive from Luke Williams in race one and a second place for Juan Rosso in the final race of the day made it a solid start for Rochester based Jamun Racing this weekend.
Teammate Nico Maranzana was seventh in the opening race and followed that up with a fifth place in the second race of the weekend.
Dan Cammish remains the man to beat as he lead from the front in both races with two more lights to flag finishes, as he shows his dominance in the Formula Ford of Great Britain Championship.
The highlight of race one has to be the performance of Williams who came from twelfth place to fifth place. He ended up in twelfth following a coming together with Camren Kaminsky that saw him down the racing order.
Just ahead of him at the finish was Juan Rosso who was second on the grid but dropped back as Andy Richardson challenged Dan Cammish for the victory, but he couldn’t get past Cammish, despite having limited running experience at Thruxton.
Speaking about his incident after race one, Williams said: “Everybody braked through there but me and unfortunately we made contact. I’m not sure why everybody braked because it’s usually flat through there.”
Race eight of the season was another lights to flag finish for Cammish but the positions behind him were up for grabs for the entire race.
Second place was keenly fought throughout by Scott and Williams and then between Scott and Rosso as the Argentinian made his was through the field, to finish on the podium for the second time this season.
Unfortunately on the final lap Williams slipped back through the pack and finished in seventh place most likely down to the tyres going off.
Giving his thoughts on a second podium position of the season, Rosso said: “It was really good fun with all the guys; a really nice race. I love to race like this.”
There is one final race at Thruxton for the Formula Ford’s and that is tomorrow afternoon and that can be seen as part of ITV4’s coverage of the British Touring Cars.
