This Saturday will see Dartford travel to Arbour Park to take on 4th place Slough Town in the National League South.
Dartford are absolutely flying having won five games on the bounce and will be looking to continue that form in what should be their toughest test since this run started.
This great run has seen the Darts score for fun, netting 16 goals whilst looking solid at the back, conceding only 2. The front three of Wanadio, Romain and McQueen have been terrifying defenders and scoring goals. Romain and Mcqueen have a combined 12 goals in the last 5 games.
Since the new manager Steve King took over, Dartford have steadily improved and climbed the league to 7th place putting them firmly in the play-off race.
The position may seem a bit misleading as Dartford have played more than the teams around them but if they continue playing like they have in recent weeks then they will no doubt be there or thereabouts at the end of April.
Making it six wins out of six will not be easy as they go to a Slough team who sit three places above them in the table. Slough’s home form this season is a large factor in why they are doing so well having lost only once in the league at Arbour Park.
Despite this fact, Slough haven’t won since beating league leaders Wealdstone on Boxing Day, drawing three and losing one since then.
Earlier in the season the reverse fixture provided plenty of goals in what was an entertaining game. With the scores level, a mad six minutes began when Dartford raced into a two goal lead with goals in the 34th and 36th minutes from McQueen and Hill.
The two goal lead didn’t last long when Slough replied two minutes later through Roberts. In the 2nd half Slough dominated the game with Lench equalizing in the 63rd minute. The turnaround was completed 12 minutes from time with Harris scoring the deserved winner for the visitors.
Dartford are a different team since that game and with a different manager will be confident of going to Slough and getting a result. Three points for Steve King’s team will see them go level on points with Slough and show that they are a real force to be reckoned with.
