Sittingbourne FC’s ties with Arsenal continued last Saturday as they played a return match against an Arsenal Community development team at the Emirates training ground, a match that they won by two goals to one.
Before the match the team was treated to a VIP look around the Emirates ground.
The tie up began when Sittingbourne FC first team manager Chris Lynch used his contacts to arrange with the Arsenal Football Development Officer Dean Miller a friendly at Woodstock on 27th July that ended in a 0-0 draw.
Arsenal were impressed with their reception and the work out that they got at Woodstock and Saturday’s return fixture was arranged. The tie up has already resulted in one of the Arsenal Community Development player signing for Sittingbourne.
These games serve as a prelim to Friday’s event (16th August KO 7.00PM) at Woodstock when Sittingbourne FC presents an evening with Arsenal legend Paul Merson. Some tickets are still available priced at £35 which includes a burger and a drink.
Should any football fan be interested please call the Woodstock Club’s manager Phil on 01795 410777 to buy your tickets.
Sittingbourne will begin their Bet Victor Isthmian South East division campaign this Saturday with a Kent derby away at Whistable Town.
