This felt like an end of season game with both teams having nothing to play for.
Both sides were guilty of giving the ball away & as the game neared the end it looked like It was going to be a bore draw but eventually Bourne scored to win the game.
The game was very slow to get going & the first half chance came in the 22nd minute when Chris Elliott’s free kick from 25 yards went just past the post. Molesey had their first chance in the 30th minute when Dre Grobler tried his luck from 20 yards but Harry Brooks saved it, four minutes later & Molesey nearly scored when a mix up in the Sittingbourne defence saw Bukele Makudi go round Brooks but saw his goal bound shot blocked on the line by Chris Webber.
A minute later Darrius Herei saw his bicycle kick go just wide. Another chance came in the 44th minute when a corner into the Bourne area saw Makudi flicked header go wide. Half time arrived & the spectators were hoping for better play from both sides.
The second half was like the first it took a while for something to happen then in the 60th minute Ato Okai in the area saw his attempted cross blocked by Brooks. The game lacked quality from both sides & although some chances came they were the exception rather than the rule.
In the 69th minute a cross to the back post saw Tayo Oyebola head just wide then in the 77th minute a corner into the Molesey area saw Lewis Chambers head wide. The game was drifting away to be a draw when finally a piece of action came in the 89th minute, a cross into the Molesey area saw Liam Allen fumble it & Seyfettin Akdeniz headed towards the goal but Joe Prately-Jones handballed it & a penalty was given as well as Prately-Jones being sent off, up stepped Akdeniz & his penalty to the right was superbly saved but came out to him & his smashed it in.
The game went on for another 5 minutes but Molesey could not get an equaliser so the points went to the Brickies although some one said hope people did not see the first 88 minutes as it wasn’t good to watch but sometimes these things happen & all you would say is Sittingbourne tried to the end.
