Gillingham striker Gerald Sithole could soon be playing international football after impressing for the League One side.
Appearances in the Gills first team have come sooner than many would have expected and at just eighteen years old, Sithole has shown he has the maturity to have a bright future in the game.
Thrust into the limelight after a raft of injuries at Priestfield, Sithole has taken his chance to impress and scored in the 1-1 draw with Cheltenham Town at Priestfield in the FA Cup a few weeks ago.
Sithole has now believed to have submitted his application to acquire a Zimbabwean passport at the country’s embassy on Wednesday.
Should Sithole go on to play international football, he would follow in the footsteps of a number of Gillingham players that have played on the world stage.
The likes of Brent Sancho, Ian Cox, Jason Brown, Marlon King and Simeon Jackson have represented their countries in the past few decades, so a new international at the club will be a great honour.
