Straight off the back of a superb weekend at Croft, BRDC ‘Superstar’ Jake Hill heads to ‘the Home of British Motor Racing’ aiming to continue his and MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square squad’s impressive run of form at Silverstone.
Hill took his and the team’s first BTCC Victory of 2021, and with it moved into 2nd place in the points, closing on leader Ashley Sutton, also adding a 2nd place and a 7th in a weekend which marked him as a serious title contender.
“I’m still amazed by just how good a weekend we had! The team have worked brilliantly, and I’m really confident we can continue this form at another circuit I absolutely love. It’s also great to be representing the BRDC ‘Superstars’ programme at the home of the BRDC, so it would be fantastic to have a strong weekend for as a ‘thank you’ for all their support”
Hill has had a busy week since Croft, coaching on Tuesday and testing the mighty LMP1 Panoz on Thursday, but is refreshed and ready for the weekend.
“We have something different to try off track this weekend, and I’m interested to saw how it benefits my performance. I know we still have 9 races and a lot of points to play for, so we will be doing everything to maximise our chances. It will be challenging having 66kgs of success ballast (due to being second in points) but the car worked really well last week with that level of ballast, so I still feel we can be strong”
Hill and his Motorbase team-mates will run in a brief shakedown session on Friday afternoon, before practice and the ‘shoot-out’ qualifying session on Saturday afternoon.
“We are ready. Really looking forward to Silverstone, and I know we will be in the mix so bring it on!”
