Lee Bowyer has been busy during the early days of the transfer window, with three new faces already through the doors.
Preston keeper, Chris Maxwelll, and Rotherham left-back, Ben Purrington, have joined Johnny Williams to bolster Bowyer’s squad.
The manager wants to sign another attacking player – possibly Aston Villa’s Rushian Hepburn-Murphy – to complete his January recruitment plan.
Williams seems certain to start at Shrewsbury, but Bowyer will have decisions to make about his other new recruits.
But the boss does not shirk from making tough calls, so it would be no surprise if he puts Maxwell straight in the team.
Purrington spent the first half of the season on loan at AFC Wimbledon, where he was an ever present. So he is match sharp and will add natural balance to the back line.
Bowyer may opt for this line-up:
Maxwell; Solly, Bauer, Sarr, Purrington; Bielik, Morgan, Williams, Fosu; Taylor, Grant.
Subs: Phillips, Dijksteel, Pratley, Clarke, Marshall, Ajose, Hackett-Fairchild.
The referee will be Anthony Backhouse from Cumbria.
This is a game where the Addicks will expect to pick up all three points.
