As expected, Charlton Athletic’s game at Shrewsbury Town on 11th November has been called off.
Jay Dasilva and Ezri Konsa were called up for the England Under-20 squad on Thursday. And with Josh Magennis already selected for Northern Ireland, the Addicks will have three players on international duty, and were entitled to request a postponement.
The match is likely to be rescheduled for next month.
December looks like being another hectic month. As well as the already scheduled fixtures, plus the Shrewsbury game, Karl Robinson’s team will play a Second Round Checkatrade Trophy game, and could possibly be involved in an FA Cup Second Round replay.
Wednesday’s win over Fulham guaranteed qualification for the next phase of the Checkatrade Trophy.
And a win or draw against Portsmouth at The Valley on Tuesday would ensure Robinson’s side of a home game in the next round. The match will be played during week commencing 4 December.
Gareth Southgate announced his full England squad for the upcoming matches with Brazil and Germany at Wembley on Thursday.
Former Charlton defender, Joe Gomez, was included in the senior squad for the first time. If Gomez plays some part in either game, it is likely to trigger a bonus payment for Charlton.
