Gillingham face the daunting task of taking on league leaders Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon.
Sitting 17th in League One, Ady Pennock’s side go into the game knowing they need to start picking up wins and soon so as not to get sucked into a relegation fight.
To that aim, Pennock has brought in six foot nine Czech goalkeeper Tomas Holy on a two and a half year contract and the 25 year old could come into contention if his international clearance comes through in time.
Meanwhile, on-loan Cardiff City defender Deji Oshilaja is available again following suspension, whilst midfielder Jake Hessenthaler missed the defeat at Oldham through illness but is expected to be back in contention.
Winger Elliott List is set to retain his place in the starting XI after the 19-year-old impressed on his first appearance since November.
Midfielder Lee Martin (ankle) is stepping up his rehabilitation, while defender Bradley Garmston (hamstring) and Aaron Morris (knee) also continue their recovery.
Max Ehmer is expected to keep the captain’s armband, whilst Pennock seems set to keep faith with the 4-4-2 system he favours most.
Sheffield United could hand a debut to Joe Riley at Bramall Lane.
The Manchester United youngster, who can operate in both defence and midfield, has signed a deal to join the League One leaders until the end of the season.
Manager Chris Wilder is hopeful left-back Daniel Lafferty is available after he missed the club’s recent defeat at Walsall.
Lafferty, who is on loan from Burnley, was sidelined for the game with a back problem but returned to training on Thursday and is in contention. Midfielder Samir Carruthers (knee) remains sidelined.
