Gillingham will welcome back influential attacking midfielder Bradley Dack for Saturday’s visit to Sheffield United.
The club’s talisman will more than likely go straight back into the starting line up having trained with the squad this week after overcoming a hamstring injury.
John Egan, though, could be made to wait for a return to the side, having been sidelined since mid-February, with on-loan Bristol City defender Adam El-Abd in good form and manager Justin Edinburgh has indicated he is unlikely to change his back five.
Striker Dominic Samuel has returned to parent club Reading to assess the extent of a knee problem suffered in the goalless draw with Coventry last weekend and will miss the trip to face the Blades.
Forward Cody McDonald has been on the bench for the past two matches since his return from some three months out with a foot problem and is again expected to be named amongst the substitutes.
That will mean Rory Donnelly is expected to partner Luke Norris in attack with the Gills boss keen to see the two forge a strike partnership.
Both Brennan Dickenson and Ryan Jackson will once again occupy the wing back berths with Gillingham having kept four clean sheets in their last five games.
With Josh Wright and Andrew Crofts anchoring the midfield, Aaron Morris is the most likely player to make way for Dack’s return.
Sheffield United boss Nigel Adkins is hoping to select from an unchanged squad for the game against Gillingham.
Adkins has no major new injury worries but will monitor defender Alex Baptiste, who was withdrawn in the 57th minute during last week’s home win against Walsall after returning from a hamstring injury.
Fellow defender John Brayford remains sidelined with a calf injury which may have cut short his season.
Teenage midfielders Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Louis Reed are both in contention as the Blades chase back-to-back wins for the first time since December.
