Whitehawk came away from Greatness Park with an emphatic win which pushed them up the table while Sevenoaks Town will put it down to a bad day at the office.
Whitehawk started the game the quickest as in the 3rd minute captain Henry Muggeridge got onto a clearance & from 25 yards his shot went just over the bar & then four minutes later Ollie Munt saw his 20 yard effort pushed around the post by debutant Matthew Blendell & from the resulting corner Whitehawk took the lead, Muggeridge’s corner to the back post found Alex Malins on his own & from 3 yards he headed in.
In the 16th minute Munt saw his curling effort from the edge of area pushed around the post by Blendell. Sevenoaks finally got going & had their first half chance in the 24th minute when Danny Divine passed to Jon Pilbeam on the edge of the area & his shot went just over the bar & two minutes later Dean Gunner running forward from the halfway line saw his 25 yard shot go wide.
Whitehawk came back & nearly increased their lead when Muggeridge running towards goal let fly & his curling effort went just wide. Sevenoaks nearly equalised in the 2nd minute off added on time when Stefan Wright in the area saw his shot go just over the bar.
The second half Whitehawk continue to boss the game & in the 50th minute Omarr Lawson collected a clearance & from 25 yards his shot went over the bar but in the 54th minute they doubled their lead & what a team goal, firstly a great cross field pass to Munt on the right wing who volleyed a pass into the area for Peter Gregory who ran on & smashed it past Blendell.
Six minutes later it could have been three when Munt on the right crossed into the area for Billie Clarke but on his own 10 yards out he headed wide.
The game became a little scrappy as Sevenoaks tried to get back into the game but lacked the final ball while Whitehawk seemed to be coasting with victory all but secured then in the 85th minute to definitely seal victory Lawson put Clark through in the area & from 15 yards he shot past Blendell.
