Dover’s Jake Dixon had his best weekend so far this season with a second place finish at the German GP.
Dixon and his Aspar Team were on the pace from free practice and he carried that carried through the weekend at the latest round of the Moto2 season.
By finishing second in Sunday’s race he earned his second podium of the year, after the third position scored in the Catalan GP.
Dixon started from second position and at the start he has managed to take the lead.
However, in the first laps he has lost positions and has dropped down to fifth place. He certainly did not give up and by keeping a great pace throughout the race, he has been able to climb back-up to second position.
Fermín Aldeguer won the race after taking the lead with five laps to go, and Ai Ogura completed the podium behind Dixon.
Speaking after the weekend, Dixon said: “If I am honest, I am a little bit disappointed because I have not been able to fight for the win in the last few laps.
“I have lost a lot of time overtaking, because every time I have overtaken a rider he overtook me back, but that is part of the game. When I have got to second position, I have shown the same pace as Aldeguer. Step by step we are improving.
“This year I have learned to be calm and face each situation calmly. Difficult situations happen, you just have to know how to manage them and I think I have done it well.
“Now I am really enjoying it and I want to thank my team. It is a good time to compete in Silverstone.”
