Second Moto2 win for Dixon
Second Moto2 win for Dixon

Kent’s Jake Dixon, the form man in Moto2, showed his class with a second win of the season at Motorland Aragon at the weekend.

Having qualified on pole position on Saturday, it turned into the perfect weekend for Dixon, as he hunts down the Moto2 championship leaders in some style.

As the lights went out, the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider gave his rivals no chance: he held the first position and attempted to open a gap at the front.

Only Tony Arbolino was able to follow him, in fact, was close to Dixon for most of the race and managed to overtake him on the fourth lap.

However, the rider from Dover had something more in the locker and was able to return the overtake to regain first position and hold that until the end. Dixon crossed the finish line with an advantage of more than a second over the Italian and more than five over third-placed Deniz Öncü.

Jake has moved up to fifth in the riders championship and there are now six riders covered by just 50 points. The title really is on for any of them including Dixon.

Speaking after another excellent weekend, Dixon said: “Winning races is incredible, I am living a dream. I am very happy. I feel very lucky to be in the position I am, doing what I like most.

“I did not expect such a fast pace as the one I have had. Today I am really satisfied with the race, I have been able to withstand the pressure of the second and win the race.

“I want to dedicate this victory to my crew chief, Quique, who has not been able to be with us on the track, but he has followed us closely.”
