Just weeks after announcing that he was joining Team AGR for the remainder of the FIM CEV Repsol season, Sam Wilford bagged his best results of the season so far.
He finished the two races from MotorLand Aragon with two top ten finishes, with a seventh and an eighth place rounding out a good debut with AGR.
AGR Team ends the last day of the FIM CEV Repsol at MotorLand Aragón with good feelings. Sam Wilford got his best results so far this season, getting seventh and eighth. Taiga Hada ended the first race in fourth position, although bad luck did not allow him to finish the second race. In Moto3, Gerard Riu was ninth and eleventh, while Joel Kelso fought for the points positions in the first race.
Racing in the Moto2 class Wilford had a great start showing his full potential. He overtook a number of other riders from thirteenth to eighth and rode alone from start to finish.
In race two Wilford progressively overtook riders, reaching the top ten and crossing the finish line in seventh position. This result is the best achieved by the Sevenoaks rider this season in the FIM CEV.
Speaking after the weekend, Wilford said: “We managed to go one better in the last race for the best result in FIM CEV for me. The team made a great job and we have more potential for Valencia”.
The next round of the championship will be held from October 30 to November 1 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, where the 2020 season will come to a close.
