Kent based Un-Limited Motorsport had their best result of the 2024 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship last weekend.
That result was a seventh place finish in race one in the final round of the campaign a their home round at Brands Hatch.
Having qualified in eighth place on Saturday afternoon Daryl DeLeon was ideally placed to secure a good result for the team.
As the lights went out he got away well and managed to miss the melee that involved Ash Sutton, Tom Ingram and Josh Cook. He managed to keep seventh place to the end. Not only did he do that he was challenging independents champion Aaron Taylor-Smith for sixth place.
Speaking after the race DeLeon said: “It was a bit of a hectic race, but I managed to avoid the chaos by going for the inside.
“The key was maintaining tyre temperature for the safety car restart, and from there, it was a tough battle between three cars. The car felt great, let’s see what we can do in the next race.”
Race two for the team would also see them score another set of solid points. With a 13th place finish. He started from 7th on the grid and he would have been hoping to move forward and challenge the top five but that didn’t quite happen.
Race three was the most difficult for the weekend, from a 13th place start DeLeon in tricky conditions couldn’t stay with the top 15 and came home in 17th place.
However, it was a fantastic way to round off the season with a 7th place finish in race one. It was an impressive debut season for the team who were put together and took to the track this season, the forward momentum the team have had across the season is nothing short of impressive.
