The Addicks have fresh injury concerns as they head to North Lincolnshire for the clash with Scunthorpe on Saturday.

Ben Reeves’ stop-go start to his Charlton career took another set‎back on Tuesday when he was substituted at half-time.

Reeves was subjected to some heavy challenges in the MK Dons match, and was again on the end of some rough treatment on Tuesday.

His hamstring felt tight and Karl Robinson wisely took the precaution of taking him off. It is a minor setback, and Reeves could even return for Tuesday’s rearranged game with Peterborough, as Robinson explained at his Thursday press conference:

“Saturday’s match took so much out of them (the team) physically. Rochdale only made three changes on Tuesday – we didn’t have that flexibility.

‘Those players at the top end of the pitch sometimes recover differently. I know how to manage Reevesy. I had no choice but to play him.

“His hamstring just stiffened. He could miss one game – maximum two. It is not going to be more than a week – if it even is a week,” said the boss.

With Billy Clarke and Tariqe Fosu also missing, Robinson’s options are limited.

Karlan Ahearne-Grant came on for Reeves on Tuesday and had a good game. He is likely to retain his place, with Ricky Holmes deployed just behind Josh Magennis.

Scunthorpe have won their last four and are just below the Addicks in the play-off zone.

Games at Glanford Park tend to be tight, with there rarely being more than one goal in it. Significantly, the Iron’s two home defeats have come against fancied promotion sides, Wigan and Blackburn.

Graham Alexander’s team are well drilled and are possibly more effective on the road, where they can hit teams on the break. Last time out, they won at Bradford.

Scunthorpe have three former Charlton players in their ranks – Simon Church, Andrew Crofts and Lee Novak – though there are doubts about all of them ahead of the game.

Church will definitely miss the game through injury,‎ Novak had to be taken off at Bradford on Tuesday, and Crofts has mainly been used from the bench.

The Addicks could line-up like this:

Amos; Solly, Konsa, Bauer, Dasilva; Kashi, Forster-Caskey, Marshall, Holmes, Ahearne-Grant; Magennis.

Subs: Phillips, Dijksteel, Sarr, Jackson, Aribo, Dodoo, Hackett-Fairchild.

The referee will be Kevin Johnson from Weston-Super-Mare.

Despite having a lengthy injury list, Robinson will be disappointed if his side do not take something from the game.‎
