Kent Cricket have announced the signings of Calum MacLeod, Safyaan Sharif and George Munsey for Kent Spitfires’ final two Vitality Blast South Group matches.
The trio of Scotland international players will be available for the trip to Lord’s to face Middlesex on Friday (16 July) and for the visit of Sussex Sharks to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence this coming Sunday (18 July).
Right-handed Glaswegian batter Calum MacLeod has made 120 T20 appearances in his career to date including Vitality Blast stints with Durham, Derbyshire and Sussex Sharks, and has scored 2,938 runs at an average of 28.52.
The 32-year-old has two T20 hundreds to his name and 49 IT20 appearances, with a career strike rate in T20 cricket of 122.72. He is no stranger to Kent’s cricket community, after playing for both Bexley and Lordswood in the Kent Cricket League.
Safyaan Sharif, a right-arm fast-medium pacer that has featured in 42 IT20s, also played for Derbyshire in the 2018 Vitality Blast. He has a career bowling strike rate of 17.54 in T20 cricket.
In International T20s, Sharif has taken 49 wickets at 24.18, and has a T20 economy rate of 7.85. The 30-year-old also toured Pakistan with MCC in 2020.
Left-hander George Munsey is known for his explosive hitting, and in making 1,231 runs in T20 cricket from his 50 career appearances at 27.97, the 28-year-old has a batting strike rate of 154.64.
He featured for Hampshire in the 2020 Vitality Blast, and has one IT20 century – 127 not out against Fred Klaassen’s Netherlands in 2019.
