The latest edition of SCEFL action saw VCD Athletic retain their lead at the top of the Premier Division, with plenty of goals and table movers in tow.
League leaders VCD travelled east to Whitstable, and a 1-0 win away from home maintained their lead over Holmesdale. It was Charlie Heatley that grabbed the all-important goal for Danny Joy’s side late in the second half, with Whitstable dropping out of the playoffs to eighth.
In Longfield, Holmesdale kept the pressure on VCD with an identical win over Corinthian. Jack Church scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute, keeping the visitors within two points of the Vickers.
Elsewhere, Faversham recorded the biggest margin of the weekend, as they trumped Erith & Belvedere 4-0. Kieron Campbell and Samuel Hasler put the hosts two to the good before half-time, with Tashi-Jay Kwayie and Fran Collin consolidating their lead after the interval. Faversham move to fourth, while the Deres slip to twelfth.
Fisher triumphed over Lydd Town in a similar fashion, with a 4-1 win catapulting them to ninth. It was Lydd that opened the scoring through James Rogers, but Fisher replied with four of their own. Armani-Jordan Martin equalised from the spot, and goals from Jack Gibbons and Charles Yiadom-Konadu put the hosts out of sight.
Towards the bottom of the table, Kennington claimed their second win of the season in a 2-1 victory over Rusthall. Lewis Godden’s opener was cancelled out by Rusthall’s Daniel Blunn in the 83rd minute, but Kinsey Gatakata stepped up in the fourth minute of added time to rescue all three points for Kennington. Dan Scorer’s side now sit three points above the drop zone in fifteenth.
Struggling Stansfeld produced another dramatic clash, as they came from behind to beat Hollands & Blair 3-2. Harvey Welford and Charlie Sheringham put the visitors two up, but goals from Jack Mahon, Chris Alhassan and Kameron Mendez turned the game on its head in Stansfeld’s favour. Like Kennington, they too now have a three-point gap over the drop.
Tunbridge Wells jumped into the playoffs with an emphatic 3-1 win over Snodland Town. Jack Walder restored the hosts’ lead after Kaelem Sobhee-Turner’s equaliser, and Festos Kamara wrapped the victory up shortly after half-time.
Manager of the Month Nicky Southall led his Lordswood side out against Punjab United, but they could only muster a 1-1 draw. Ryan Hayes equalised for Punjab in the second half after Bradley Schafer’s goal in the first, leading to the points being shared at The Steve Cook Stadium.
Larkfield & New Hythe continued to impress with the least games played in the division (four). Josh Jackson and Jack Clark’s goals gave the hosts a 2-1 win, with all three goals scored around the 40-minute mark. They sit just one point behind fifth-placed Tunbridge Wells, despite playing four games less.
