Tonight SC Thamesmead host Bridon Ropes in the Presence & Co. Southern Counties East Football League First Division.

Play-off hopes for the Ropes were dented on Saturday when they were beaten four-nil at Tooting Bec. They went one-nil down in the sixth minute and were reduced to ten men in first half stoppage time when Raheem Sterling-Parker was dismissed.
Three further goals after the break sealed their fate. As a result, they dropped to eighth place in the table, but just two points off the play-off places.
Having not played on Saturday, Thamesmead are two places lower and eight points behind having played one game fewer. Their last game was a week earlier when they drew at FC Elmstead.
They looked good for all three points through a Wilfred Evans goal but suffered an equaliser in the eighth minute of stoppage time. That was their second consecutive late goal conceded following Forest Hill Park’s stoppage time winner seven days earlier.
At home, the Acre have won four, drawn six and lost just twice whilst Bridon Ropes have a symmetrical record of four wins, four draws and four defeats.
When the two teams met in September the Ropes secured a ‘come from behind’ victory. Raphael President put Thamesmead ahead in the seventeenth minute and they held the lead at half time. Just shy of the hour mark, Pat Ward equalised and Patrick Da Lomba scored a seventy-third minute winner.
Both teams know that a strong run in could take them into the play-offs so a competitive match can be anticipated.
