There is an important match on Saturday afternoon when Rusthall host Whitstable Town in a Southern Counties East Football League match with both teams battling for a play-off place.

Although Faversham Town were crowned as Champions on Tuesday night, and VCD Athletic look likely to take the leading play off spot, there are four teams chasing the other three places with Rusthall and Whitstable joined by Fisher and Punjab United.
Due to their successful F.A. Vase campaign which will culminate when they contest the final at Wembley in May, the Oystermen are behind in league games and hosted Lydd Town on Tuesday evening. Nathan Jeche put Whitstable ahead on the half hour mark. Although the relegation threatened visitors equalised in the sixty-fourth minute, Jayden Boulton scored what proved to be the winner two minutes later to take the Oystermen above Rusthall into fourth place.
In their last outing on Saturday, the Rustics visited VCD. Two first half Vickers goals settled the game and the visitors dropped three points behind third placed Fisher.
Looking at the form guide, both teams are going well. Whitstable are in top spot over the last ten league games having won nine and drawn one. However, the Rustics are in third place with their defeat at VCD ending an unbeaten league run of eighteen matches.
When Rusthall visited Whitstable in early August, they enjoyed their afternoon on the coast, winning three-one. Tarik Ibrahim put them one-nil up in the seventeenth minute and Daniel Blunn added a second five minutes before half time. Charlie Clover made it three with five minutes remaining and Josh Oliver’s goal for the hosts was no more than a consolation.
Two teams in form, and with play-off places at stake, an exciting encounter is anticipated.
