With the start of the 2017 rallycross season just round the corner Kent based driver Graham Rumsey is looking to clinch the Hot Hatch title after missing out on it in his maiden year by just five points!
He was also awarded ‘best newcomer’ for the 2016 season. After a steep learning curve the Onwatch and Fletchers Solicitors backed driver will be setting his sights on the top spot this year.
The championship gets underway at the newly improved Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire on 19th March before heading back down south to Rumsey’s home event at Lydden Hill for the first of two visits this year. The championship will also make a welcome return to Mondello Park in Ireland for the first time in two years for an exciting double header. The championship also runs over 9 rounds this year.
Speaking ahead of the season Rumsey said:“I’m very excited about this year and can’t wait to get started. 2016 was all about learning the unique skills that Rallycross requires. To be awarded with the best newcomer award for 2016 was a really great way to round out the year. I still have something to prove and I won’t be happy with anything less than the championship this year!
“Thanks once again to all the support my sponsors give me and the team at XtremeRX without whom I’m sure I wouldn’t be as competitive on the track.”
