Simon Rudd will return to the Volkswagen Racing Cup for a third straight season, with Team Hard and sponsor Elsfab for the 2016 season.
After a strong end to the 2016 season, Rudd will be hoping to keep up the momentum going into the new season and be regularly challenging at the front of the competitive championship.
The continuity of support and surroundings should be the perfect ingredients for Rudd, who looks to continue his upward trend of results to become a contender for the coming season.
Speaking about returning for a third season, Rudd said: “I am really excited to continue my career with Team HARD. in the VW Racing Cup. I have seen the team grow into a major force in British motorsport and it has been brilliant to be a part of that.
“We had a great end of the 2015 season with third place at Snetterton, along with a pole and second place in the final race at Donington Park, so there is no reason we can’t be challenging for the 2016 title!”
Key to his career has been the support of fabrication expert Elsfab, which returns as the main sponsor for the VW Golf Rudd will pilot for the season ahead. Elsfab is joined on the car by Jackson Lifts and Vehicle Transportation Studio. All three will benefit from Team HARD’s unique corporate benefits, VIP hospitality and hugely successful track-days for partners and customers.
He added: “I am immensely grateful for the loyal support from my partners and it is great that they are joining us once again for 2016. We are also working hard on securing some additional partners to join us for this season.”
The 2016 VW Racing Cup season begins on April 30th at Rockingham. The championship is on the support package for the British GT Championship and as such allows a prestigious platform for corporate events and offers excellent networking opportunities, as well as prime TV exposure on MotorsTV and Channel 4.
