Bromley travel up to Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon for their FA Cup First Round game with League One Rotherham United at the New York Stadium.
The Ravens go into the cup tie on an unbeaten run of nine games, which was extended on Tuesday night with an impressive 2-0 away win at Woking thanks to second half goals from George Alexander and debutant Jack Cawley.
Andy Woodman’s team currently sit fourth in the National League table with 27 points from 13 league matches, three points off the leaders Boreham Wood with as game in hand and a better goal difference.
Rotherham Utd were only a few miles down the road from Bromley on Tuesday nightwhen they played Charlton Athletic in League One at The Valley drawing 1-1, Mikel Miller putting The Millers in front before they conceded a late equaliser. Rotherham are third in League One with 31 points from 16 league matches and are also on an impressive unbeaten run of eleven games also dating back to 11 September under manager Paul Warne.
The Millers have a familiar face to Bromley fans in their line up with defender Romani Edmonds-Green who had a good loan spell with The Ravens two years ago, featuring in the FA Cup draw at Bristol Rovers. Striker Freddie Ladapo has played against Bromley in the FA Cup before back in his days at Grays Athletic in October 2014.
It’s been well over 70 years since Bromley last progressed to the second round of the FA Cup and this will certainly be another stem test if they are to make history on Saturday against an in form team from two divisions above them.
The Ravens are taking at least six coaches up to the New York Stadium, with many others making their way by train for the big occasion, with over 300 tickets sold in advance to give the team some vocal backing.
