Invicta Dynamos Head Coach Kevin Parrish has made 23 year old forward Nathaniel Rose his penultimate signing of the off-season after the skater agreed a move from the NIHL North’s Sutton Sting ahead of the 2012/13 campaign.
Nathaniel Rose first came to prominence in Sheffield as he progressed through the junior ranks before icing for the EPL’s Scimitars in 2005/06 aged just 16. He would feature 20 times for the South Yorkshire based outfit before then agreeing terms to stay put for another year in 2006/07. However, after a second campaign with the Sheffield side, Rose opted to take a break from the sport altogether and he hung up his skates until his taste for hockey would finally return again come 2011/12.
Now, searching for a route back into the game, the forward signed up with the Sutton Sting in the NIHL North Division 2 for whom he would make 10 league appearances, scoring 8 goals and grabbing 7 assists in the process for 15 points. He also accrued 55 minutes of penalties. Since then the boisterous forward has become determined to prove himself in the NIHL and, having agreed a switch to the South’s top tier, he will don the number 2 shirt for the Dynamos throughout 2012/13.
Speaking on the capture of new face Nathaniel Rose, Head Coach Kevin Parrish gave the club’s supporters an insight into what they could expect from their recently acquired attacker and suggested that he had the talent to succeed with his new side.
Parrish said, “Nathaniel is a big, strong unit that can hit like a freight train but in my opinion he also has the skill to be a top forward in this league. Before joining up with the Sutton Sting last term he had spent a fair bit of time out of hockey but he rediscovered his hunger for the game a year ago and put up very respectable numbers on his return.
“Now he joins us at the Dynamos very keen to take on a new challenge and eager to show that he has the right attitude and desire to be the top British player he was fast becoming before taking time out from the sport. I have no doubt he will fit in well with the rest of the squad in Kent and I look forward to working with him throughout 2012/13”.
The capture of Nathaniel Rose takes the Dynamos’ roster to 20 ahead of the first puck drop in September and Head Coach Kevin Parrish will unveil the final piece of the jigsaw on Tuesday before training begins for the new season.
