The Invicta Dynamos came back from trailing after the first period to win 7-5 away to the Romford Raiders on Sunday night.Callum Fowler6

Having had Saturday night off after the Peterborough Islanders forfeited the cup tie with the Dynamos awarded the game 5-0, Kevin Parrish’s side showed on Sunday their class to beat one of the title favourites.

Callum Fowler was in fine form as he opened the scoring for the Dynamos, but goals either side of that in the first period saw the home side take the advantage after the opening twenty minutes.

Three minutes into the second period and the Dynamos were level through Peter Vaisanen and despite conceding again, two goals from fellow Canadian Justin Noble and another from Fowler saw the visitors go into the final period leading 5-4.

Two more goals from Fowler in the final twenty minutes saw the Dynamos stretch their lead further and they hung on to victory despite Romford scoring their fifth of the night with five minutes to play.

The victory keeps the Dynamos National Ice Hockey League South play-off hopes alive with eight leage fixtures left to play.

They currently sit fifth in the league, just a point behind the Cardiff NIHL Devils with a game in hand.

The Dynamos are back in action again on Saturday when they travel to Solent & Gosport before returning to Gillingham on Sunday evening to face the Bracknell Hornets at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl with face off at 5:15pm.
