Charlton announced on Thursday that Kevin Nugent had left the club to take up the vacant first team coaching position at Barnet.
Nugent took seven points from three games after Russell Slade was sacked, but has not been seen at The Valley for several weeks.
The Addicks head up to Lancashire for the second time in four days to face Oldham’s near neighbours, Rochdale, on Saturday.
Dale lost 1-0 at Bolton on Tuesday and are in indifferent form at Spotland – now named the Crown Oil Arena.
Keith Hill’s side drew 0-0 with Bristol Rovers in their last home fixture, but were beaten 4-0 by both Oxford and Huddersfield before that.
Karl Robinson is frustrated by his team’s inability to convert their chances, which has cost them dear recently.
The manager rotated his squad on Tuesday, and will probably make changes for this game.
Lewis Page and Karlan Ahearne-Grant travelled to Oldham but did not feature. Page is suffering with a slight hamstring problem and may again miss out.
Robinson may name this team:
Rudd; Solly, Bauer, Konsa, Chicksen; Crofts, Forster-Cakey, Holmes, Aribo, Watt; Magennis.
Subs: Phillips, Dasilva, Teixeira, Jackson, Botaka, Mavididi, Novak.
The referee will be Scott Duncan from Northumberland.
Play-off hopes are fading fast and Charlton desperately need to put a little run together to build momentum. If it does not happen soon, their season is in danger of fizzling out.
Rochdale is an ideal opportunity for them to get back to winning ways.
