Karl Robinson wants to bring two of his former MK Dons players to The Valley in January.
Robinson wants to bring in wingers and a number ten, and both players fit the bill.
Ben Reeves is a 25-year-old Northern Ireland international who came through the fabled Southampton academy.
Reeves started as a left-back at St Mary’s, before being moved forward into an attacking midfield role. He made a handful of first team appearances for Southampton, and also enjoyed loan spells at Dagenham & Redbridge and Southend.
He signed for MK Dons in the summer of 2013 and has made 93 league appearances for the Dons, scoring 20 goals.
Reeves scored against Charlton in last week’s FA Cup replay, and his current deal runs out in the summer of 2017.
Samir Carruthers is a 23-year-old Islington born winger. He came through the Arsenal youth set up, but joined Aston when he was 16.
Like Reeves, he played a handful of first team games before joining MK Dons, initially on loan.
Carruthers is not known for his goal scoring, but is a constant creative threat from wide areas. He has notched just 4 goals in 88 league matches, and his contract also expires in the summer.
Both players were brought to MK Dons by Robinson, and he obviously knows them well.
With Lee Novak ruled out until the end of January, Robinson will be keen to beef up his attacking options as early as possible when the transfer window opens on 1 January.
The Addicks’ Under-23 team were beaten 2-1 at Greenwich Borough’s ground on Monday afternoon. Josh Umerah scored Charlton’s goal.
