The Kent FA have announced that Stephen Rowedder of the Kent Youth League is May’s Football Futures Star of The Month.
The star of the month initiative rewards young volunteers in Kent who work tirelessly to ensure that the excellent reputation that the county has at grassroots level is maintained.
Steve volunteers with the Kent Youth League as the Under 16 Fixture Secretary, and joint Referee Secretary. For such a young person Steve shows great maturity and makes excellent decisions while dealing with issues that come along. He is also been a qualified referee from over 5 season now.
Football Development Officer, Lee Suter said ‘Steve is a real shining light for young people in grassroots football and his passion for developing referees and offering a service for the Kent Youth League.”
“Steve is an excellent example of how if leagues and clubs empower and trust young people as administrators they can excel and be a real asset – the league is rightly proud of Steve”.
On receipt of the award Steve said, “Firstly I’d like to thank the Kent FA for the award it shows that my hard work and dedication on the Kent Youth League has been recognised.”
“I have now been with the Kent Youth League for two seasons and I have enjoyed every moment. The league work so hard to ensure young people in Kent get good quality football week in, week out. The satisfaction it brings to work on such a large scale league is immense and I hope to support them for many years to come”.
