With just ten days until the American Speedfest at Brands Hatch it has been announced that a replica NASCAR will be on track.

The car will be a replica of Richard Petty’s Number 43 Plymouth Superbird for a demonstration around the Indy Circuit.

The original Superbird had a long nose and mammoth rear wing and was featured in the Disney animation film Cars.

The replica is set to display at SpeedFest as part of Mopar Muscle Car Club’s extensive collection and is complete with “Dinoco Blue” colour scheme and stickers reminiscent of the Petty original. The Superbird sounds as good as it looks and will add its considerable voice to the American-themed celebrations when it takes to the track alongside the genuine NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series competition cars.

The King replica is the latest to join the long list of legendary American muscle among the comprehensive car display of over 600 cars. But it’s not all about the racing at SpeedFest: there’s a hotdog and hot wing competition open to those up for the challenge, the Red Devils will be parachuting in, there’ll be live music (from a different kind of King…), a family Fun Zone, monster trucks and much more.

Race fans though will be entertained by the only NASCAR series outside of North America – the Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series that headlines the American racing timetable. Joining them will be the Pickup Truck Championship, the classic power of Bernie’s V8s and the Legends Cup Championship.
