The Invicta Dynamos can confirm that 21 year old forward Conor Redmond has requested his release from the club having felt his ice time had become limited and will now depart the SilverBlades Gillingham.
Former Ireland international Conor Redmond signed for the Mos in the summer of 2015 and enjoyed a fine first season in Kent with 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points in 49 appearances. His efforts and contribution saw him become the recipient of the ‘Players’ Player of the Year’ award at the close of the campaign and the skater swiftly penned a contract for the 2016/17 campaign. However, 7 games into the new season, the forward has requested his release from the side and will now move on and ply his trade elsewhere after a total of 56 outings in Kent and 42 points.
Speaking on Redmond’s exit, Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “Conor felt his ice time has been limited this season and is looking to move elsewhere and clock up more minutes. We have a bigger squad at the Dynamos this year and so it may not always be possible to give the players the ice time they feel they deserve. We’re sorry to see Conor go – he’s an excellent worker and has a bright future – but we respect his decision and wish him well for the future”.
Conor Redmond’s exit sees the roster drop to a still healthy 21 and the team are next in action on Sunday as they host the Oxford City Stars in Gillingham from 5.15pm.
