Kent will have another representative on the grid this weekend, as Luke Reade makes his debut in the Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain.
The 19-year-old will make the step-up from karting to make his debut in a Falcon Motorsport Mygale at Rockingham.
He will join established racer Harrison Scott and fellow debutant Andy Chang as he races in the remainder of the seasons races.
He is no stranger to the Falcon team having won a test with the team as part of his starring in last year’s Henry Surtees All Star Kart event at local circuit Buckmore Park.
Speaking about how the drive came about, Luke said: “That’s how we got to know Nick Streatfield and Falcon, and I was offered a drive for the full season but couldn’t quite get the budget together.”
“Then this chance came up to do the last three meetings, and we snatched it up. It’s very early to talk about next season but this will be a good taster for us and if it all goes well we can look at full season in 2014.”
Reade, from Keston, near Bromley, is a CGI artist with a London studio; he enjoys the backing of environmental research company Cracking Energy Machines and Alex Reade Motorsport. Luke has been karting since 2009; his first and only car race was in May this year when he drove a historic Formula Ford.
There will be three rounds of the Formula Ford Championship in which Dan Cammish can wrap up the title, having won every race this season so far.
The final race of the weekend will be shown live on ITV4 as part of their coverage of the British Touring Car Championship.
