Luke Reade made further progress in the Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain at the home of British motorsport.

The young driver who is making his debut in single seater racing from karting is looking to improve even further as the season heads to his local track, Brands Hatch as the curtain comes down on the 2013 campaign.

Speaking after the racing at Silverstone, Luke said: “I am very pleased with the progress made over the weekend. Although I would have preferred a bigger jump forward, but I put that down to missing most of Friday second practice due to a car issue.

“We made a massive step forward from Rockingham, and hoping for the same thing at Brands. The team and I are working very hard at improving the car and my driving, so definitely more to come.

“The racing was very entertaining at all ends of the grid, my main aim in the race was still to improve my driving. Finishing higher up the grid was a benefit.”

The season comes to an end at the weekend at Brands Hatch and Luke is looking forward to getting back on track and improving again.

He added: “I have got a lot on my mind as we head to the last round at brands hatch, speaking with the team after the race they highlighted areas I need to work on. I am excited to get back in the car and try them out!

“I am really excited that Brands Hatch is the next track, I have been dreaming about racing there since I was about four years old, and it’s on the grand prix circuit. I can’t think of anything better. The excitement sort of cancels out the pressure. Yes there is still an element of pressure to perform at my best.

“Unfortunately there is no testing on the GP track at brands until the Friday of the meeting, a video game will have to do.

“I am loving my experience in Formula Ford so far, and would love to compete in a full season next year. With a chance of winning.”
