In the final weekend of the season Luke Reade admitted that he learnt a lot in the tough conditions at Brands Hatch in the Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain.Round 10 of the 2013 British ouring Car Championship.

Again it was three races that offered improvement for the young driver who is looking to gain more experience ahead of the 2014 season.

Speaking about the weekend, Luke said: “In one word wet! No the weekend was great, got to drive the car in all sorts of conditions. And again learnt a great deal with the team.

“To be honest I was so wrapped up in my weekend I had no time to think about the other races, which is a shame really because I love the touring cars. Although I did get to watch the last race in the back of the truck.”

As the weekend developed Luke believes that he learn a lot that will stand him in good stead going forward for next season.

He added: “I feel I have learnt more at Brands than at any other point, in myself and in car setup. I was feeling quietly confident before qualifying, but unfortunately the track was notoriously slippery, and I failed to get a good lap in.

“The weekend was very challenging, in terms of weather, but it was great for me learning the car and track. And can only help towards the future.”2013 British Formula Ford Championship. #3 Luke Reade.

Luke was also impressed with Simon Rudd who came into the team for the final round of the season and the racing that he had with his teammate and the rest of the field.

“Simon is a great driver, he outperformed everyone’s expectations of him. We were closely paced over the weekend, but never close on the track. He would make a mistake or I would make a mistake. Hopefully there are some great races to come from both of us.

“Racing at Brands was great, saw loads of familiar faces who had come down to cheer me on. The atmosphere was great even in such torrid conditions. I would love to be part of that again.”2013 British Formula Ford Championship. #3 Luke Reade.

Luke was happy to see that progress was made in his three race weekends that he took part in and is now working hard to be on the grid permanently for 2014.

He said: “The level of improvement from Rockingham to Brands has been huge. I would have loved to have turned up in winning form straight away, but it’s just not that easy.

“I have loved the challenge of pushing the car further than I thought I could to find that time. I am confident there is loads more to come! I look forward to mounting a serious challenge on the championship next season.

“The work starts now for next year. I will do everything I can to develop the most attractive package for potential sponsors. So fingers crossed, and I will hopefully be on the grid next season.”
