Luke Reade announced yesterday that he was joining the Ginetta Supercup grid from this weekend at Snetterton and he couldn’t be more excited.
He has been racing in the MSVT Championship but now makes a step-up in class as he joins the TOCA package with Graves Motorsport.
Speaking exclusively to Kent Sports News, Luke said: “I am super excited to be joining the Supercup grid, I have wanted to make the step into GT racing for a while and this feels like the perfect step. With the end goal currently being able to race at Le Mans that would be a dream!
“The TOCA paddock has some of the best drivers in British Motorsport, it will be fantastic to go up against them. It has a massive following and is a great place to showcase what I can do alongside Billy Ruffian.”
Luke explained how the deal came about that saw him make the move up, backed by Billy Ruffain shoes.
He added: “Billy Ruffian are a fantastic brand, I first heard about them when I was asked to do some work with a few others for their ‘walk well’ campaign last year.
“They were great and we stayed in contact after and got chatting about racing and one thing led to another. I can’t wait to embark on this journey with them.”
Reade is hoping that he will be able to get used to the feel of the car and develop in the remaining rounds of the season, as he continues working with his current team.
“The plan is exactly that, we are running with Graves Motorsport who are an established British racing team and new to the Supercup so it will be a learning experience for us both. A few good results wouldn’t go a miss though.”
Looking ahead to next season Reade has his sights very much set on a full season in the Ginetta.
He said: “The plan for 2021 will be a full Supercup championship campaign in partnership with Billy Ruffian. Hopefully chasing down some podiums and wins along the way.”
