It was Range Rovers that picked up the Kent Sunday Trophy as they beat Club Langley 3-0 on Sunday morning.
A nervy start from Club Langley saw Range Rovers assert their authority on the game from the off with most chances coming their way in the opening exchanges.
The electric start from Range Rovers was rewarded when Luke Blanchard’s cross nestled into the far corner of the goal with Club Langley keeper Niall Higgins unable to lay a glove on it.
Going 1-0 down inspired Club Langley and they came close to an equaliser when Paul Taylor flicked on a Marc Woods free kick, but Range Rovers keeper Olly Dewey was equal to it.
The two teams went in at the break without really troubling either keeper after that, but the game was to come to life in the second half.
With chances starting to come at both ends, referee Matt Barber had no choice than to send off Club Langley’s James Woods and gave a penalty to Range Rovers with the defender deemed to be the last man.
Up stepped George Blake and calmly slotted the ball beyond Niall Higgins to make it 2-0.
With the numerical advantage, it came as no real surprise that Range Rovers were to go on and extend their lead further with Tom Montgomery capping a fine day for his club.
In the end it was the better side that won the cup and on this showing, they will be a force to be reckoned with going forward.
