Championship side Queens Park Rangers have pulled out of the race to sign Gillingham midfielder Bradley Dack.
Dack had an unbelievable season in 2015/16, scoring 15 times in all competitions, and collecting 10 assists to help the Gills to a ninth place finish in League One.
As a result, he won numerous awards, including League One Player of the Season as well as being chosen in the Team of the Year.
Following his excellent season, there have been many sides tracking the 22-year-old, one of them being Queens Park Rangers, who struggled to a 12th place finish in their first season back in the Championship after relegation from the Premier League.
However, manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has said that he is not quite the kind of player that they need right now.
“We need to get goals and strengthen in that area,” Hasselbaink said.
“Bradley Dack is not really a striker. He’s a No. 10 and we don’t need another one of them.”
Left in the race to sign the attacking midfielder are teams such as Crystal Palace, Bristol City and Scottish giants Celtic. However, Gillingham’s Player of the Year is rated at around £2.5 million, so they would have to be prepared to spend money to get their man.
