Charlton Athletic manager Chris Powell is amongst those being discussed by Wolves for their managerial vacancy.

The Molineux outfit are believed to have already spoken ex-Millwall boss, Kenny Jackett, as well as making contact with Steve McLaren. Owen Coyle is another thought to be on Wolves’ short list.

It seems unlikely that Powell would step down a division but Wolves’ Premier League parachute money means they will have by far the biggest budget in League One.

The Wolves manager will have far greater funds at his disposal than his Charlton counterpart. Though Powell moving to Molineux seems unlikely, stranger things have happened.

The Addicks announced a formal tie-up with American based sports company, Global Image Sports, on Monday.

The deal will see Charlton link up with several United States and Canadian based teams. The Addicks hope the move will help grow their fanbase in North America.

Whether the link produces any first team players for the club remains to be seen. Charlton have had high profile links with clubs such as Inter Milan and Liverpool in the past but fans have yet to be convinced of the merit of such deals.
