Positive start for Nixon
Positive start for Nixon

Jack Nixon put in an impressive performance after over a year out of racing since he won the 2021 National Junior Superstock Championship at the recent Bennetts British Superbikes Round 1 held at brand new MSV Navarra Circuit in north Spain.

Nixon signed a deal earlier this year with Eddie Roberts, owner of Kramer Motorcycles Racing Team and has gelled with the team well. He and his team mate Owen Jenner, last year’s National Junior Superstock champion have been getting well acquainted and are very evenly matched making for good viewing.

The riders all battled against the elements with strong winds coming in from the South West as Nixon stormed to the top of the GP2 class taking the Saturday chequered flag in the Sprint race. The Sunday feature race he started off very well but unfortunately tipped off the bike with 8 laps to go.

Nixon said “This weekend was definitely tougher than we anticipated, with lots for us to learn as a team. I’m happy with how we progressed throughout the weekend, and on Sunday made another step with a solid Race 1.

Unfortunately in Race 2 it wasn’t meant to be and progress was halted by a mechanical issue. It wasn’t how we wanted to end the weekend but as a team we are taking the positives as we go back to the UK at Oulton Park, Round 2.”
