The two week break has been beneficial for Karl Robinson, he will have a couple of additional options for Saturday’s trip to Peterborough.
Josh Magennis picked up a hamstring injury in the match against Scunthorpe at The Valley earlier in the month.
Magennis was included in Northern Ireland’s squad for the World Cup qualifier against Norway at the weekend, but did not feature in the match.
If fit enough, Robinson may pair him with Tony Watt on Saturday.
Jason Pearce has played two Under-23 games since his long lay off without any problem.
Robinson has said the rugged defender will be in the squad that travels to Peterborough. The manger will be tempted to include Pearce in his starting line-up at London Road.
Pearce’s organisational and leadership skills have been a huge miss for Charlton. Robinson had this to say about the two players:
“Jason Pearce will be in the squad and so will Josh Magennis, they are big players for us.
“I think if people were at the Sheffield United game they can clearly see once we have our own style of play – they way I want us to play – we’re not a million miles away from being a very good team.
“We’ve got to find consistency, aggression and leaders to carry on through the season.””
