Pompey are top of the table, have won their last eight games in all competitions, and have only lost one league game all season.
The Addicks will take heart from their last visit to Fratton Park in April, when a Nicky Ajose goal was enough to give them all three points.
Toby Stevevenson will drop out, and Lee Bowyer must decide between bringing Naby Sarr in as a straight replacement, or switching Chris Solly to the left, with Anfernee Dijksteel coming in at right-back. Sarr’s more muscular presence may win him the manager’s vote.
Portsmouth are a typical Kenny Jackett side – big, powerful, and physical with a strong work ethic. They will be really difficult opponents.
Charlton may line up like this:
Steer; Solly, Bauer, Pearce, Sarr; Bielik, Lapslie, Aribo, Reeves; Taylor, Grant.
Subs: Phillips, Dijksteel, Marshall, Clarke, Fosu. Ajose, Hackett-Fairchild.
The referee will be John Brooks from Leicestershire.
Taking anything from this game will be a bonus.
