Bob Peeters will take his team to Fratton Park on Saturday to face League Two outfit, Portsmouth.
It will be Charlton’s final warm up game and Peeters’ starting line-up should give plenty of clues about who will start at Brentford a week later.
Stephen Henderson may get the nod over Nick Pope for the goalkeeping berth. Peeters may want to get a full 90 minutes into both his senior keepers, so it would be no great surprise if one of the duo played at Bromley.
Chris Solly – if fit – will be first choice right-back and Rhoys Wiggins will be at left-back.
Michael Morrison and Tal Ben Haim may be preferred to Andre Bikey and Joe Gomez at the heart of the defence.
Johann Gudmundsson and Lawrie Wilson will contest the wide right slot, Callum Harriott is likely to play on the left, with competition coming from Franck Moussa when he is fit.
Jordan Cousins, Johnnie Jackson and Yoni Buyens will contest the two engine room places.
Peeters likes a big man up front, so George Tucudean could partner Igor Vetokele.
Charlton could look like this: Henderson; Solly, Ben Haim, Morrison, Wiggins; Gudmundsson, Buyens, Jackson, Harriott; Tucudean, Vetokele.
Subs: Phillips, Wilson, Bikey, Gomez, Fox, Nego, Cousins, Church, Pigott.
It will be interesting to see if Peeters reduces the number of subs he uses and how many players are on the field for the full game.
Jason Euell’s Under-21 squad will be in action at the same time. They will face Bromley at Hayes Lane. Euell’s side will include all the fit players not involved at Portsmouth.
