Charlton will host Scunthorpe in the First Round of the FA Cup. The game will be played on the weekend of 5 November, and there is a real chance the game could be shown live on BBC or BT Sport.
The Addicks could scarcely be given a tougher task at this stage of the competition. Local rivals, Millwall, were drawn at home to Southend, so a tough task for the Lions too.
Should both teams lose, the eargerly anticipated Millwall v Charlton local derby will be played on 3 December, the day Round Two matches in the FA Cup will be staged.
Jason Euell’s Under-23 side contested a dull 0-0 draw with Cardiff at the CDS Campus on Monday afternoon.
Tom O’Sullivan diverted a shot past Dimi Mitov after only four minutes, but the effort was chalked off for offside.

Russell Slade will be hoping for back-to-back , victories when the Addicks visit Port Vale on Tuesday evening.
Slade was pleased with the performance, as well as the result, against Coventry on Saturday. Ironically, the Sky Blues were the last visitors to Vale Park, and they came away with a 2-0 win.
Warranted his squad have got a clean bill of health, Slade is likely to keep faith with the side that started on Saturday.
Jordan Botaka and Kevin Foley missed the Coventry game through injury, and are likely to be sidelined again.
