The FA Cup Third Round draw was something of a damp squib for Charlton fans when they were paired with Blackburn.
The game will be played at The Valley on Saturday 3 January. A tie against a side from the same division is the draw that nobody wants.
The Cup has lost much of its appeal of recent seasons and games such as this attract poor attendances.
The match will probably be priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, but will still probably only attract a sub 10,000 crowd.
For those that follow the team up-and-down the country, there is a real possibility that the game will go to a replay, meaning another difficult midweek journey.
The draw was largely uninspiring, the highlights being a repeat of last season’s final that will see Hull visit Arsenal, and the winners of the Accrington v Yeovil replay will entertain Manchester United.
The club will announce full details once the formality of the game not being selected for live television coverage has been confirmed.
