There were more points for Un-Limited Motorsport at Knockhill in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship last weekend.
Although it was a case of what might have been for the Kent based team and their driver Daryl DeLeon, having been disqualified from the results of race three.
Qualifying couldn’t have gone much better for DeLeon as he was challenging the top ten, with an 11th place start for Sunday’s opening race, with defending champion Ash Sutton alongside him on row six for company.
Unfortunately he lost three positions in the opening lap, as he was running the medium compound tyre for the opening race of the weekend. He crossed the line in 15th place, netting one point.
He started the second race of the weekend on the soft tyre from 15th place, he made his way up to 13th place and was looking good. Until that was contact forced him off the track, and he rejoined in 19th place and worked his way back up to 16th place.
The final race of the weekend, saw Daryl start in 16th place on the grid, he was looking like the Cupra Leon had a lot of pace from the off. He was up to 12th pretty quickly and he looked determined to make sure he finished the weekend strongly. Even with a five second penalty added to his times, he would have had enough for 12th place overall, having crossed the line tenth.
However, in the post race checks DeLeon and the team would fail the ride height checks which meant he was disqualified from the race.
It was a tough end to the weekend for the team, but they will bounce back and be ready for the next round at Donington Park.
