Detling’s Team Hard Racing scored more points despite not having the greatest weekend at the latest round of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship last weekend.
Race one was the highlight of the team with three strong points finishes, which shows the team and drivers potentials in the championship.
Bobby Thompson was once again the team’s top finisher with a 7th place finish in race one, that was as good as it got with DNFs in races two and three.
Teammate Dan Lloyd finished just outside the top ten in 11th place in race one. In race two it went better with an 8th place finish in race two before coming over the line in 23rd place I’m the final race of the weekend.
Dexter Patterson again scored points with a 14th place finish in race one of the weekend. He then repeated that in race two and came home outside the points in race three.
Having finished in 22nd in race one and not finishing race two, Jade Edwards came oh so close to scoring points with a 16th place finish in race three.
Jack Butel and teammate had another solid weekend even though they didn’t score points, they did finish all three races.
Speaking after the weekend Thompson said: “I’m absolutely delighted that we were able to spend the whole of Saturday in the top 5, it’s where the car deserves to be but of course, it’s a shame we weren’t able to carry those results into Sunday.
“There were multiple situations that didn’t go our way on race day but the team did a great job across the weekend to keep our heads held high despite a tough race day.
“We go into the summer break knowing what we need to adapt and develop on the car to make that next step. This is the first time since the start of the season we have time to really go through everything with a fine tooth comb and perfect our package so we can keep our top five pace for the rest of the season.”
