Michael Crees enjoyed his return to the home of Motorsport with points finishes in all three races.
Not only did he net himself solid points in race one and two, but he started race three from pole position.
Race one was a gamble or tyre choices and it was one that worked for Creesy as he moved up from his P25 grid slot to finish in P12, moving forwards and impressive 13 places.
Race two he would start in P12 in far better conditions and it would be exactly where he would finish as well.
Then his name was picked out for pole position in the reverse grid draw, which gave him his first pole position in the BTCC.
He wasn’t able to convert that with a podium finish, he was swallowed up at the start and ran fifth for a fair amount of time, before an engine problem would bring an end to his weekend.
Whilst Crees was disappointed not to finish the final race of the weekend, he scored his first points of the season and his return to the series in races one and two.
Speaking after the weekend, a pleased Crees said: “Mega day, it wasn’t the ending to the weekend we wanted but it was great to pull up to pole position for the first time and just see the sheer amount of people on the grid around me. When the crowds dispersed it was a surreal feeling, I’ll tell you that!
“After a poor Saturday, I couldn’t ask for much more after coming away with two 12th places and my first pole in the reverse grid. I can’t wait for Brands Hatch.”
